Compact 12.5-inch business laptop built for portability, durability, and upgradeability. Reliable for everyday office work, web browsing, and light professional use, but limited by its older processor and low-resolution display.
Measuring roughly 31 x 21.5 x 2.1 cm, it fits easily into small bags. The 'Ultrabook' branding of its era ensures it stays under 21mm thick. The lid features a soft-touch finish that is grippy but prone to 'peeling' on heavily used refurbished units.
Unlike modern soldered laptops, the 820 G1 features two RAM slots (max 16GB) and a unique M.2 2242 slot alongside the standard 2.5-inch bay. This allows you to run a fast SSD for the OS and a high-capacity HDD for files simultaneously.
The standard 1366x768 SVA panel is the device's weakest link. It has narrow viewing angles and lower color accuracy (approx. 45% NTSC). It is functional for text-based work but poor for photo editing or cinematic media.
While originally rated for 11+ hours, most refurbished units in 2026 will provide 3–5 hours of actual use. Users should look for 'Long Life' 46Wh cycles or plan to keep the 45W AC adapter handy.
It features three USB 3.0 ports (one with charging), a full-size DisplayPort 1.2, VGA, and a drop-jaw Ethernet port.
It runs Windows 10 Pro smoothly. Note that the 4th Gen Intel CPU is not officially supported for Windows 11. It is a 'legendary' choice for Linux distributions (like Ubuntu or Mint) due to excellent driver compatibility.

Can it run Windows 11?
Not officially. The 4th Gen Intel processor lacks the required supported CPU list entry. While it can be installed via 'bypass' methods, it will not receive official Microsoft support.
Does it have an HDMI port?
No. It uses a full-size DisplayPort. To connect to an HDMI TV or monitor, you will need a cheap DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter.
Is it good for coding?
Yes, for web development and learning. The keyboard is excellent, and 16GB of RAM is sufficient for most IDEs, though the screen resolution is tight for side-by-side windows.
